Final field trips

The Third Grade has been busy learning and going on educational field trips. Here you can see some of the projects and activities that we have been up to.

Here we are at the Talpa Community Center, where Ms. Luzita read us a cool story called The Arrow of the Sun. We then did an art activity based on the story and played in the playground.

We went to the Taos Junction Bridge, where we investigated the types of insects that trout like to eat in their natural habitat.

After visiting the river we went to the New Mexico Wildlife Center in Espanola. We saw owls, hawks, and a bobcat.

We had a number of new Students of the Month for April and May. Congratulations to them for all their hard work and the unique gifts they bring to our class!

More project presentations. People helped clean, helped take care of animals, helped work in restaurants and do laundry!

More photos of the NMWC. The weather was perfect that day. We also met a bird who plays the piano!

In our continuing collaboration with Kindergarten, our class taught the younger students all that we have learned about trout, including their life cycle, anatomy, and food preferences.

The moment finally arrived last week when we released our Cutthroat Trout into Red River. We wish them the best of luck in their new lives! The students also proved that many of them are naturally gifted fishermen and women.

The perfect ending to this fun day. Lemon-flavored Italian Ice. Thank you, Ms. Darcy!
