Amazing Second Week at School

This week, the 3rd grade students at TISA were very proactive in getting their Science projects finished. By putting water into plastic  baggies, we were able to observe the Water Cycle happening in our own homes. Check out the condensation that occurred in projects by Winterfox, Ira, Destiny and Jossen! There is also a project here by Lillyanna, in which she labeled which day she was recording her data. You can clearly see the condensation happening in her project.

In talking about the Water Cycle, students wrote sentences that describe all four stages in it. We saw two of them in our Science Projects. Check out these very well written and accurate sentences by Oliver:

First water heats up in evaporation.
Then it cools and forms clouds in condensation.
Then it goes down as precipitation.
And then it collects as accumulation.

Here was another excellent explanation of how the Water Cycle works. This one was handwritten, and done by Cora.

The 3rd Grade students have also been doing some beautiful work in Ms. Cassandra's Art class. Here is a fish bowl in the style of Henri Matisse made by Emma

Oliver also did a great job of completing the Social Studies map assignment. His map shows the route that the Spanish people took in the 1600s when they came to the land we live in, which is now called New Mexico.

Our class read the Giving Tree last week. We drew pictures of trees and wrote in the leaves of them all the things that are given generously in the story. Here is a very nice drawing by Cora
