Science, poetry, and some Math work

Take a look at Emma's Science project from last week:

Destiny also did a nice job on the Science. Her project clearly shows which jar contains hot water and which one contains cold.

If anyone wants to see how to record their Science work properly in their notebooks, take a look at how Jossen and Cora did it:

Ms. Wally and I were very impressed by people's poetry in the last week. Take a look at some of these brilliant, creatively arranged poems by Cedar, Jossen, Seth, Ira, and Emma

One of the main assignments that we had overr the last couple of weeks was to create regrouping folders to help us with our addition. Oliver did a nice job of that, sorting out his problems according to whether or not they required regrouping.

Emma also turned in a very nice poster showing the things that make her cool. This is from the recent How to Be Cool poster that the whole 3rd grade did.

Here is more lovely art work. This is a picture that was done by Mila of the characters from the Wizard of Oz.

As election time approaches, the 3rd grade class made posters showing who their favorite presidents are. Here is one by Cedar, who made his poster on George Washington. Great drawings!

Ira did some nice work for Science in the last week. We studied the changing states of matter, and in this video he showed how water can change states from a liquid to a solid (ice), then it can change yet again if you break the ice apart. Ira also wrote some nice poetry about his experiment:

"Water in its liquid state-

thrown into the air-

  falls and splatters-.

Water in its solid state-

  thrown into the air-

  falls and shatters"-
