What's going on in 3rd grade?
The 3rd Grade at TISA has been very busy doing all kinds of things in Math, Literacy, Science, Social Studies and Art. Take a look at some of the awesome work that has been going on in our classroom!
In Science, we have been studying different types of energy. Here you can see how the students tested wind energy using their own pinwheels!
One of the important things we do after our Science projects it to write about them by answering a Focus Questions. Our answers usually include key Scientific words that we have studied in our readings. Take a look at these students' excellent answers to a Focus Question about Light Energy.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, we came up with 40.... In Literacy, the class has been working on a new word-generation strategy called Picture-Word Practice. We all took a close look at this picture, and look at all the words we came up with from it!
We have also been enjoying reading the book Stone Fox, by John Reynolds Gardiner, lately. The class has done a fantastic job of reading the book very carefully and answering questions about each of the chapters in full detail.
