Field trip, kale, and trout!

As we return from Spring Break, this is a perfect time to reflect on some of the cool things that the 3rd grade class has done over the last few months.

We went on a field trip to the New Mexico History Museum in the beginning of March. The class had an amazing time exploring our state's history while going on a scavenger hunt through the museum!

We have watched out trout eggs hatch into tiny sac-fry. The students are going to be surprised when they come back to school to see how big the fish have gotten! We had a special visit from an expert in fishing from the New Mexico BLM. He taught us more about the trout's natural habitat and what kind of food they eat in their natural environment.

Our class also had a special visit from someone who works with the Farmhouse, which provides us our school lunches. We learned all about the nutritional benefits of kale. We also made a delicious kale smoothie, and got to plant some kale seeds ourselves!
