3rd Grade End-of-Year Field Trips

As our year comes to a close, the 3rd grade has wrapped up a few of their ongoing projects and has gone on some awesome field trips over the last few weeks.

Before going to the Red River Hatchery, where we released our trout into their natural habitat, the 3rd grade gave lessons to the TISA kindergarten on all the things they had learned over the previous months, including trout life cycles, anatomy, habitat, and nutrition!

Going to the Hatchery was an amazing experience. We got to tour all the different tanks where they keep trout in their various stages of life. We got to feed a pond-full of hungry adult trout, and we got to go fishing, where several people from our class had some significant catches.

Our class went along with the 4th graders to visit the Albuquerque Zoo. We saw many incredible animals, including penguins, peacocks, and chimpanzees! Our classes were also lucky enough to have a private lesson with some of the zoo's wildlife experts.
