Loads of Cool Projects as We Near the End of January

We've almost reached the end of January, and the class has accomplished a great deal this month. In this post, you will see pictures of the work we have done in art, science, performing arts, STEAM, and some of the plain old fun we have had in the 3rd grade!

Our class had a visit by Lee Shawver, who is an expert in spoken and written Chinese. Here we are practicing our Chinese calligraphy in anticipation of the Lunar New Year.

In science, we have been studying water and climate. Here we are doing an investigation into how droplets of water form and move on different surfaces. The students wrote fantastic answers to the Focus Question for this investigation too.

Here is an activity we did in cursive writing, geometrical symmetry, and art all rolled into one! (Isn't it great going to an integrated art school!?) Check out our Cursive Monsters:

Ms. Anandi has been hard at work getting the students ready for their theatrical performance, which will take place on March 28th (Mark your calendars!). Here they are rehearsing the dance finale.

Ms. Ali has been taking advantage of the recent snowy weather by making snow-paintings with the students. Here they are dabbing and dribbling their creative designs.

Also thanks to Ms. Ali, the students finally completed their poetry books after working on them since before Christmas break. Here they are reading their marvelous work aloud to the class.

Our school had another visit from the folks at Explora. Here they brought a wide variety of materials for the students to examine the phenomenon of spinning.
