Mesa Prieta

The Third Grade had an amazing time on the field trip to Mesa Prieta the other day, where we got to see petroglyphs that may be over 1,000 years old!

We thought that our Delfino was unique. Turns out there have been Delfinos in this area for centuries!

We learned about what certain strange symbols might mean.

Our tour guides, Sandy and Ken, were very knowledgeable about the history of our region.

Lugging our lunch up the hill was a challenge.

...But we made it! After eating, the students wrote their own "Stories in Stone."

Beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristos. The ancient Anasazi sure picked a good place.

Our class also was fortunate to receive dictionaries from the Rotary Club. Use them!
