The 3rd grade did a marvelous job performing their rendition of The Bird of the Golden Feather. They all learned their lines well, the singing and dancing was incredible, and the costumes were stupendous! We are all very grateful to Ms. Anandi for leading up the fine theatre program we have here at TISA.

Final field trips

The Third Grade has been busy learning and going on educational field trips. Here you can see some of the projects and activities that we have been up to.  Here we are at the Talpa Community Center, where Ms. Luzita read us a cool story called The Arrow of the Sun. We then did an art activity based on the story and played in the playground.  We went to the Taos Junction Bridge, where we investigated the types of insects that trout like to eat in their natural habitat.  After visiting the river we went to the New Mexico Wildlife Center in Espanola. We saw owls, hawks, and a bobcat. We had a number of new Students of the Month for April and May. Congratulations to them for all their hard work and the unique gifts they bring to our class! More project presentations. People helped clean, helped take care of animals, helped work in restaurants and do laundry! More photos of the NMWC. The weather was perfect that day. Field trips and other cool stuff

 A lot of cool things have been happening lately in 3rd grade. Read on down to see what we've been doing! Our class went on a field trip to the Talpa Library and Farmers Market. There, we got a tour of the library, got to dress up as fruits & vegetables for a market parade, and we also sang our song about the 7 Continents to the community. Thanks again to Ms. Luzita from the Talpa Community Center, and to Ms. Ali for helping us assemble and paint the continents.  The class took another fun field trip, this time farther afield to Las Golondrinas in Santa Fe! Here we participated in their Heritage Days celebration. The students got hands-on experience grinding corn, combing wool, winding rope, and stamping tin.
