Amazing art and school-wide activities

Our class has been busy as usual learning about cool stuff and doing fun, educational art projects. Check out what we've been up to, including Polygon Monsters, Math Night, the Puppet Show, and the visit from the Santa Fe Chamber Music string quartet!

Here are some samples of one of our latest, entitled Polygon Monsters. For this project, the students used some of the polygon shapes that they had been learning about in geometry to make their own imaginative designs. They then wrote stories about their characters. Check out the display in the hallway next time you are at school.

Our Math Night on March 5th was a huge success. Lots of families, from all grades came to participate in the all the various math games that were available. Who knew there were so many fun ways to practice our math skills?

The 3rd grade did a spectacular job in producing their Puppet Show. The students worked hard for months on this project, designing their own puppets and working as a team to write their scripts.

Here we are backstage at the Puppet Show, patiently waiting for our performances. The anticipation level is high!

Our school was very lucky to receive another visit from the Santa Fe Chamber Music organization. These four incredibly skilled musicians shared with us some classics as well as some newer works by diverse composers.
